Indicative Local Centre Masterplan
Identity
The proposals will build on the character of the surrounding area and wider site characteristics. Two distinctive walkable neighbourhoods would be developed, to the east and west of Ting Tang Lane. The neighbourhoods would be focused around mixed use local centres, community facilities and mobility hubs.
Community Focus
- The new local centre will deliver a variety of spaces for the community. This could include an enterprise hub, healthcare facilities, cafe co-working spaces, a gym, supermarket, local shops, a community building, etc
- A public square will be located in the heart of the site and will form a key element of the local centre. This can host a weekly market and other seasonal activities
Spine Road
A spine road runs through the centre of the site, supporting distinctive buildings, active movement and high quality public realm.
Schools
- A new primary school will be provided as part of the development. This will be a key component of the local centre
- The development will support enhancements to the facilities of existing secondary schools
